Assuming you even got it off the ground, it would obviously be contested by Trump which throws it to the house and senate and then you need 2/3rds of both to carry it. So if it's just a question of getting the right number of people on your side the 25th amendment is more difficult. Plus twisting it to be used in a way it obviously wasn't intended to be used would make even some of the people who don't like Trump uneasy. Looking at it in terms of damage I think it would set a very bad precedent. The part about the Puerto Rican terrorists (one of whom was just pardoned by Obama) was insane.

I have the same reaction you do to stories about right-wing coups, and theocracies. Everyone loves The Handmaids Tale, I bet if I searched I could find a dozen people referencing it just recently. And yet when it comes to women I see half a million women marching for the right to kill their unborn fetus dozens of them dressed up in actual vagina costumes. Sorry, but I'm not seeing the incipient dawning of the theocracy... Reminded me a little bit of Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg, at least the first section talking about political violence of the 1970's. It definitely seems like people have a blind spot for violence, historical or current, coming from the left. I have noticed that quite a bit. I recently read a sci-fi book that was pretty good (We are Legion, We are Bob), but in the book America there is a coup by the right and they turn the country into a theocracy. It was annoying for a few reasons, but mostly because I get the sense that a lot of people really think that's where things are headed. I could be wrong, but that seems like the least likely outcome. Though it does make good justification to ramp up the violence.Jeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09241084771870353378noreply@blogger.com
